Spring Clean-up Day 2022 Recap

Thank you to all the public and volunteers that came out to our Spring Clean-up Day 2022, giving the Cowes foreshore a thorough spring cleaning!

A successful day with the weather holding out allowing us to collect over 70kg of rubbish from the Cowes foreshore on the beach and grass areas from Mussel Rocks through to Erehwon Point.

A mixture of random things were found from shopping trollies to a Teeth Whitening Tray, but the most common items as you might have guessed were alcohol bottles and cigarette butts.

For those with the heaviest bags of rubbish, they got some fantastic prizes such as Wildlife Coast Cruises voucher and Westernport Water Drink bottles, as well as all participants received wildlife pins provided by Phillip Island Nature Park.

Overall, a fantastic event with more planned for the future to help ensure our local environment stays clean.
